Hapuin Mountaineers

Another beach bumming planned by the Hapuin Mountaineers. This time it’s going to be in Borawan and Dampalitan Island. The original plan was to have an island hopping at different islands in Quezon Province (Lipata Island, Puting Buhangin Island, Kwebang Lampas, Dampalitan Island, Mag-asawang Bato Island and Borawan Island.) But due to weather conditions, the team just opt to spend day 1 in Borawan and have our second day in Dampalitan Island.

	(Supposedly by 8:30am we'll take the bus to Padre Burgos,
	however, since we waited for kuya dennis from the terminal for
	almost 2hrs. The itinerary was messed up and we arrived at the
	pier 10:30am. Whew!! Hahaha!!) Travel time from Terminal
	to Padre Burgos only takes around 45 minutes.

Conti's Mango Bravo

Every Sunday, after last full service at Victory The Fort, Jaybee and I always have our late dinner anywhere near the church. August 21, 2011 -- I asked him to have our dinner in Contis located in Bonifacio High Street, because I’ve been craving for their MANGO BRAVO for almost a month. He was kind of hesitant because for him, 75php for a slice of cake is expensive. But of course, I used my rebuttal powers, so I won! hihi!

We had our main dish first, I ordered Garlic Prawn Pasta. (260.00phph) Prawns sautéed in garlic and olive oil with bits of tomatoes, black olives and capers tossed with fettuccine and parmesan.

Jaybee had his Chicken Roulade (Php 225.00) Roulade of chicken with spinach, cheese and caramelized onion served with garlic rice or with Saffron Mushroom Risotto (Additional Php 30.00)

And drinks. Pineapple shake for him (65.00 php) and yellow mango shake for me (80.00 php).

And finally, our desert. Conti's Mango Bravo. Back in Convergys, my former boss gave it as a price for the team being a top performer. It was the first time I tasted it, and then it became my personal favorite. 

Conti's Mango Bravo. It's a chilled, frozen layer of sponge cake, cream, cashew, chocolate mousse, with white mango cream which has mango chunks on top drizzled with chocolate drippings. Yes! It's a layer of those delectable things which made it so tall.

 I should say that this is a must try for cake lovers out there. The combination of flavors is perfect. It was funny how Jaybee reacted the first time he tasted the cake. It actually shows on the photo. Seriously! Hahaha!!

The regular size is 850.00php, a mini size cake is 450.00php and a slice will costs you 75.00php.

Anawangin Cove

"WHERE BORA MEETS BAGUIO"

Years ago, Anawangin is a secret place, a paradise known by mountaineers, a very serene cove hidden from the tourists' eyes, behind the grassy mountains of Pundaquit. In 2008, The place is no longer secret, mountaineers now shared the still serene but now very fragile cove. It would be nice if you will be able to experience a slice of one of the Philippines unexpected beach sceneries. 

My first time in Anawangin last year was a memorable one, i remember being mesmerized by its natural beauty. The crescent shaped cove with a pristine white sand beach. And what makes the place unique is the unusual riddle of tall pine trees flourishing round its vicinity.

"Where bora meets baguio" that was the event made by Hapuin Mountaineers posted in facebook and it made 18 attendees. November 27-28, 2010 and it's Jaybee's Birthday celebration as well. It was also the first time i met the rest of the Hapuin Mountaineers. The place was great nonetheless. When we got there, lot of campers were around and as stated in blogs, the place is getting crowded.

The Original plan is a trek via Mt. Pundaquit (the team stick with the plan), but jaybee and i opt to ride a boat to anawangin cove. But i'll be more than glad to post our original itinerary via mt. pundaquit.

On our second day, before we end our weekend getaway, we had a quick side trip to Capones Island, specifically to see the lighthouse.  The island is actually a big lump of rock formation with very little soil, but the the island is still amazing. It was around 5pm when we get there, it was the right timing for the sunset. The view from the lighthouse was breathtaking.

There, It was all rest and relaxation. Anawangin Cove and Capones Island is certainly a great designation for those who want to get away from the usual thing that they experience everyday in the city, away from comfort zone and stress.
