Borawan and Dampalitan Islands

BEACH CAMP 2011

Hapuin Mountaineers

Another beach bumming planned by the Hapuin Mountaineers. This time it’s going to be in Borawan and Dampalitan Island. The original plan was to have an island hopping at different islands in Quezon Province (Lipata Island, Puting Buhangin Island, Kwebang Lampas, Dampalitan Island, Mag-asawang Bato Island and Borawan Island.) But due to weather conditions, the team just opt to spend day 1 in Borawan and have our second day in Dampalitan Island.

First stop, Borawan Island. From Laguimanoc Pier to Borawan Island, it usualy takes for about 10-15 mins but because of the big waves which is a bit scary but exciting, it took us almost 30mins to get to the island.

It's around 11:00 am when we got there, there were also a lot of campers around. Maybe because its summer and i guess it’s a favorite hideaway of backpackers, adventurers and campers.

The Island was so beautiful with its rock formations and the shoreline is really awesome. It doesn’t have the long stretch of white sand beach, but it's full of huge rock boulders with a backdrop of high limestone walls just like in coron. It was amazing. We immediately took some pictures in the shoreline and rock formations.

The island doesn’t really have that fine powdery white sand, just like in Boracay and the limestone didn't look exactly like what i have seen in Coron, Palawan. But to have a hint of both in one place, probably that's what makes Borawan Island, uniquely beautiful.
After lunch, we started chillin' then enjoyed the beach.

Then after dinner, the nightlife begins. It's campfire social time!

King also found a water snake! He killed it with his slippers. He said he wouldn't kill if it didn't attack him while ...... hahaha!!

The next day after we had our breakfast, we decided to board and go to Dampalitan Island.

Dampalitan Island is one of the unspoiled island around Padre Burgos, Quezon.  It's an undeveloped beach with a long stretch of shoreline. Dampalitan Beach is around 10-15 minutes boat ride from Borawan Island.

We then immediately checked out the beach and enjoyed the beauty of Dampalitan. It is very ideal for laid-back beach camping also for family beach excursions. We also had our lunch here before we headed back to Manila.

It was all fun, and the whole team was really satisfied and grateful that we were able to set foot on one of the Quezon's best beaches.
